LBN400 - A Portion of Sh2-119

This is my version lovely emission nebula LBN 400 located 2,200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Cygnus. This is a mere portion of the large emission nebula Sh2-119, often called the Clamshell Nebula due to its resemblence of an open shell..

My goal with this image was to present a more muted, natural colour palette. Once I had completed all of my stacking and linear processing, I move the component images over to Affinity Photo. There are a ton of details in the Ha, so I tried my best to really make those details and striations pop without overwhelming the the image. The Oiii was definitely faint, but I think I hit my goal of making it flow with the Ha. There is a ton of Sii in this image, but I wanted to ensure that it didn’t overwhelm the transition between the Ha and Oiii especially. I experimented a lot of with different brightness and colouring combinations, eventually settling on what you see here (Thanks @Katelyn Beecroft for your help!).
